The Bridge - trailer

Here's the promo trailer for the TV show I'm working on, The Bridge.

This is what they give for the show synopsis:

It is the role of the police to protect society - but who is there to protect them? The police union has become powerless against the politically-motivated police department and street cop Frank Leo (Aaron Douglas) is sick of it. By popular vote Frank becomes president of the 8000 strong police union but makes many powerful enemies in the department along the way.

Inspired by the insights of a former police union head, The Bridge lays bare Frank's struggles - he not only battles criminals on the street but sometimes his own bosses and police force corruption, in order to protect his fellow officers and ultimately society.

That pretty much says it. It really looks like it's going to be a great show.

This looks kick ass. I've thought for a long time that the greatest obstacles faced by a cop might be from his own department and the government of the people he's trying to protect. These are sometimes presented as a plot complication (so the hero can be someone who "doesn't play by the rules") but they're rarely explored for their inherent dramatic possibilities.

This trailer is very encouraging. The actors look like people, not actors pretending to be people, which will be crucial to the success of a project like this. I watch hardly any network TV, but I'm looking forward to seeing this in July on CBS.

Looks great. I wonder if I will be able to see it here. We get one Canadian station. CBN.

Patti, the show will be on CBS in the US. I think it will follow CSI on Thursday nights at 10:00.

I have two points:

1) What the hell is Chief Tyrol talking about? Doesnt everyone know that he is a frakking Cylon?!!!

2)What about those Jays?

So, what's worse, Cylon or union leader?

When the Jays have played every team in the American League I'll start to get excited (though I am very happy to have Cito Gaston back from the start of the season).

You know A D played a union leader on BSG too. A cylon union leader! He cant be trusted.

I've been yelling, "We own this city!" for like a week. Seriously, the show looks great, its got a real "Shield" look to it and no one can complain about that. But holy shit, after Thursday CSI, the most watched of the CSI hydra. Tell me you got a clause in your contract that makes the actors hold one of your books in a few scenes of each show. This could be the year McFetridge goes international. Next step, world domination.

Mike, that's funny. I've been handing my books to the props people for weeks and when they filmed the scene with a guy reading a book - in prison, no less - he's holding The Three Muskateers.

Next time, baby, next time.

Looks smashing, squire ... I'll hold my breath until it airs this side of the pond in seven years time ... if The Wire is anything to go by.

Cheers, Dec
